At first glance, the T3 Cura Luxe hair dryer may be like nothing you’ve ever seen. When you take a second glance, you’ll notice that this dryer is indeed unique. It’s not just its sleek cylindrical shape that makes it stand out, though. It’s sure to have a handful of features that may make you consider bringing a T3 Cura Luxe into your daily routine. If you’d like to find out what they are, read on!
Despite its unusual design and streamlined shape, the T3 Cura Luxe is—and functions as—a full-sized blow dryer. Its wide-mouth design gives a wider air flow that’s gentle, which helps hair dry faster. The dryer is not tiny, but it’s not huge, either. Its medium size, light weight, and ergonomically slanted handle make it easy to…well, handle.
The combo of five heat and two speed settings allows you to customize your drying experience for your hair type. Let’s go over some of the other cool features of the T3 Cura Luxe!
Best Features of the T3 Cura Luxe
Check out the manufacturer’s video below or read on for some of the coolest features of the T3 Cura Luxe!
The first feature of the T3 Cura Luxe that stands out when it comes to functionality is the unique style of the blow dryer’s buttons. Their design is more like something you’d find on another appliance, such as a fan, perhaps—meaning that they’re easier to use.
While they are on the dryer’s handle, the buttons are recessed into it and not raised above the surface. The digital step switch allows you to change temperature easily, and a quick glance at the lighted indicator lets you know exactly the level of warmth. This means that your fingers won’t be bumping the buttons accidentally like with most dryers.
Changing speeds is easy as well—punch the recessed button once to toggle between high and low. No more accidentally blasting your hair while drying. The nearly flush, sleek design of the buttons prevents surprise heat or speed switching while in use. To make it even better, the buttons are on the back of the handle where your fingertips won’t find them!
Volume Booster Switch
While this is a feature similar to ones that may show up on another dryer or two, it’s still a unique addition that makes the Cura Luxe special. Near the bottom of the handle, a shiny, lighted button allows you to pump up the volume by deactivating the ionizer.
What does that mean, exactly?
Well, the negative ions the dryer expels are what smooth the cuticle—the outer layer of the hair. So when you turn the ionizer off, it provides more volume and less smoothing. Perfect for finer and straighter hair types that need all the volume you can get!
That doesn’t mean you can’t have smoothness and volume, though. If you want both, simply dry partway with the ionizer on, then depress the button to turn it off near the end. Follow up with a cool shot to lock your voluminous style in place and you’re good all day!
Auto Pause Sensor
This is a super cool feature that sets this dryer apart—and it’s a smart one. A built-in sensor shuts off the air flow when you remove your hand from the handle. So for those of you who juggle a brush with your blow dryer, now you can set the dryer down without worrying about it slowly scooting off the counter or melting something nearby. This is especially helpful for stylists in the salon, juggling not only the dryer and the brush but clips, combs, and other tools as well.
The handle contains two sensors, one on the front and one on the back. So you’ll want to make sure both are covered for continuous air flow, but you can rest easy when you set it down. And of course, the sensors can be disabled if you want to turn off the auto pause function. To do that, you hold down the speed button until the third light blinks. Wow, this blow dryer is smarter than some cars!
The rest of the Cura Luxe blow dryer’s features are good, but they don’t stand out quite as much as those three. It comes with two concentrators, digitally controlled ionic heat, a two-year warranty, a nine-foot cord (yay!) and a locking cool shot button (double yay!).
At under $250 on Amazon, many users are longtime fans and proclaim it to be well worth the money.
Reviews are mixed but lean heavily toward five stars, which is always a good sign, although you have the occasional flukey dryer that burns out or melts something. An occasional person comments that they wish there was one more speed setting, but that’s rare.
For the most part, the T3 Cura Luxe is a fave. Many users allege achieving salon-quality blowouts in a short time, which can often make a blow dryer nearly priceless. Some even say it negates the need for a straightener, and that’s a big deal! Overall, the T3 Cura Luxe is largely a winner.
